The Debt Snowball Finally Rolls
Posted Under: Debt Tales
I’ve had my debt snowball in place and have been anxious to put the plan in action, but haven’t had extra money to put toward the debt, due to having work hours cut around the holidays and a huge electric bill.
Well, thanks to a day of overtime at work and selling some stuff on Ebay, I was able to make some progress. I sold $77.00 worth of stuff on Ebay and sent in an extra $80.00 payment to Care Credit, the debt sitting on top of my debt snowball list.
When my wife got paid, she made the final payment to pay off the Sears card she had, so we have one less card to worry about.
I have already scheduled an online payment to pay off another small balance on a card. It is scheduled to be made next Friday when I get paid. That’ll be the second card to be scratched off the list. Taking them off the list is very exciting and makes me feel like we are finally making some progress!

I’m feeling a little frustrated because I already killed all my small debts–$135 medical bill, a different $148 medical bill, and then $600 to my old apartment leasing company. Now it’s just my HUGE credit card balance and my car loan. I miss having the small bills almost, because progress was fast, so that’s why I’m frustrated! But I’m happy that they’re gone now too.
Just keep reminding yourself that they’ll eventually get paid off. The steps are the same, it just takes more steps to get there.
