My First Sale on Half.com

A few weeks ago, I tried putting some things on Half.com to see if they would sell.  Half.com is owned by Ebay, but you don’t have to pay a listing fee on Half.com and the items stay listed until they sell or you remove them.  As a trial, I placed two books and one compact disc on their site.

I hadn’t thought about that listing lately, but tonight I got an email saying one of the books had sold.  It sold for $10.00 and Half.com will reimburse me $3.07 for shipping expenses.  They will also take $1.50 for their commission, so I’ll end up receiving $11.57, which I should receive about 7 business days after the end of the month. I believe that will be around December 12th.

I know $11.57 isn’t a huge deal, but it gives me a chance to see how their whole process works.  They expect me to have the book in the mail by December 2nd. That should be easy enough.

This sell has inspired me to place more books on their site.  I have quite a few books and almost never read a book more than once, so I doubt I’ll miss them when they are gone.
