Another Busy Week…. A Recap

Well, this has been a busy week and I’ve had very little time to blog about any of it. Here are some of the things that have been going on.

  • Worked the usual 40 hour week. Would love to have a few extra hours to get more money to throw at the debt, but when you watch the doom and gloom broadcast on channels like CNN for a while you appreciate just having a 40 hour job!
  • Sold a $40 book on Half.com, but won’t get paid for a couple weeks.  Anything to find a little extra in welcomed.
  • My daughter’s Playstation 3 isn’t doing anything even after I did the system restore, so it looks like we’ll have to pay for a repair eventually.
  • I got an offer from Discover to transfer balances at an interest rate of 3.99%  until August.  I would like to consolidate some of my remaining cards onto a card with low interest, but I’d like it to be for a longer period than 6 months.
  • Last year I bought some tires from the Goodyear store.  I bought my set when they were offering one year same-as-cash.  I bought my wife’s tires when they were offering 90 days same-as-cash.  Both offers are getting close to expiring and it looks like I’ll be unable to pay it off before the expiration date, so I might use that Discover offer to move the debt there to avoid the accrued interest from being added.
  • I think I have all the paperwork I need to file my taxes.  I use Turbotax to figure my taxes, but I’m having some troubles this year.  Since I did a refinance on my mortgage, it looks like I can only claim a certain amount of the mortgage interest paid and the Turbotax web site can’t figure it.  I have to figure out the allowed amount and enter it myself.  I haven’t had enough time to sit down and really study the rules, but it looks like I will get a refund from both federal and state this year.  How much of a refund is still unknown, but I plan to throw all the refunded money at the Care Credit Card sitting on the top of our debt snowball.

I need a day to just relax and figure all this stuff out, but it looks like my schedule will keep me busy for a while longer.  Stay tuned.

Hi,

I’m just getting started with my new blog. Would you want to exchange links on our blog-rolls?

BTW - I’m up to about 100 visitors per day.
